6G Industrial Community (6G IC)

Motivation:

The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) is committed to advancing 6G and beyond by fostering collaboration, innovation, and global progress in communication technologies. Our objective is to promote research and development through cross-sector partnerships between academia, industry, and government, driving the creation of new technologies vital for next-gen communications. We lead the development of standards that ensure seamless integration, interoperability, and global adoption of these technologies. ComSoc also provides a platform for knowledge exchange, enabling industry stakeholders to collaborate and share insights. By supporting technology transfer and commercialization, we ensure that groundbreaking research translates into tangible products. Furthermore, we address societal challenges by promoting ethical, legal, and policy considerations to ensure 6G technologies benefit global communities. Through these efforts, we aim to create a
sustainable ecosystem for 6G, driving economic growth and improving connectivity and quality of life worldwide.

Objective:

The objective of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) regarding 6G development and beyond within the industrial community is to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and facilitate the advancement of next-generation communication technologies. This includes:

1. Promoting Research and Development: Encouraging research initiatives and collaboration among academia, industry, and government agencies to explore and develop new technologies and concepts essential for 6G and beyond.

2. Standards Development: Leading the development of standards and guidelines that ensure interoperability, compatibility, and efficiency in future communication systems, facilitating seamless integration of diverse technologies and enabling global adoption.

3. Knowledge Exchange: Providing a platform for knowledge exchange through conferences, workshops, publications, and technical committees, enabling stakeholders to stay updated on the latest advancements, share insights, and collaborate on solving common challenges.
